Dear Mr. Kreep,
I have been a lifelong Republican, never have voted for a Democrat, and never would. Ever since Clinton's administration and the Congress behind him, I have seen Republican "representatives" slip and slide down the proverbial slope, prevaricating, compromising and selling themselves to advance their political careers.
I have lost faith, Mr. Kreep, in Congressional leadership, and have seen no evidence that any Republican presidential candidate(s) have any goals in mind other than advancing their personal careers. I am sure there are some in Congress who actually care about the country and Constitution and who have a mind to stick to their convictions, whatever the cost, but I think those are few and far between. Congress's record stinks, and what have Republicans done about it? The scourge has only increased.
I am a very angry, disgusted and frustrated American, and I want CHANGE from the socialist landslide, the dissolving of our borders and national sovreignty, the mockery and disrespect afforded our Constitution; I want our courts to be courts of law, not safe havens for the issuance of whimsical judicial decrees.
What has happened to representative government!!! It has become reprehensible government!!!
How can a Republican majority ever hope to make these necessary changes, or worse yet, does the Republican "party" even want or have the courage to do so?! There is a rumor circulating that there is no discernable difference between the two parties. I have come to believe it. So, my hope is in God alone. Very un-PC, but there never has been really any other valid receptacle for ones' hope, has there!?!
I wish you could convince me that a Republican take-over would restore order, hope, integrity and Constitutional governance in the America that I love and that a terrible number of young men have died to procure. God forbid that they have done so uselessly. What I think can be summed up in the second verse of the Star Spangled Banner(which I am fairly sure you have not read before), which I will quote here:
"O thus be it ev-er, when free men shall stand
Be-tween their loved homes and the war's des-o-lation!
Blest with vic-t'ry and peace, may the heav'n- rescued land
Praise the Pow'r that hath made and pre-served us a na-tion!
Then con-quer we must, when our cause it is just;
And this be our mot-to: "In God is our trust!"
And the star-span-gled ban-ner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!"
Thank you for reading my email.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Mary Mueller
