Phoenix, AZ - Dr. Eastman stated that the initial subject that must be addressed, as it is one of the main reasons for illegal immigration, is that of “Anchor Babies.” Dr. Eastman stated that, without doubt, there is no constitutional basis for giving someone citizenship simply on account of physical birth.
He cited that the vast invasion of the United States by illegals is certain to doom the quality of life, rob future generations of Americans of their birthright and, as well, bankrupt the country.
He noted that the 1866 congress that passed the 13th Amendment that outlawed slavery had largely been distorted. This amendment, and others passed at the same time including the 14th, are only referenced with regard to the issue of domestic slavery and should not be relied upon to interpret issues dealing with current issue of illegal aliens.
During discussion after Mr. Eastman’s speech, Rev. Wayne Perryman argued that the 14th Amendment applies solely to slaves who had been freed by virtue of the Civil War.
