Yesterday at an Environmental Public Works (EPW) hearing in Washington, DC, Senator Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) proved her deep and abiding pettiness. Boxer demanded that United States Army Brigadier General Michael Walsh call her "Senator" and not "ma'am" while he testifying.  As he began to respond to one of her questions by calling her ma'am Boxer rudely interrupted and stated, "Do me a favor," she said, "could you say 'senator' instead of 'ma'am?'
