This week's Sports Illustrated featured an article on French soccer star Thierry Henry. Henry, who is black, signed with the New York Red Bulls this season after spending over a decade playing in Europe. What shocks Henry most about America? Whereas European fans routinely insult and slur black players, Americans don't. "I've been to a lot of arenas to watch NBA games and the Yankees, and I have never heard anyone have a go at a guy because he's from Puerto Rico or the Dominican or Africa or wherever," Henry marveled. "I can understand why people in America are kind of shocked [by European racism], because that doesn't happen in their sports."

The green light flickered and our show “Mother Earth’s Weekly Squirms” was on. Our Mars TV panel, back from vacation, was complete. “Dear panel,” I began, “the news from Mother Earth is increasingly bizarre. We see a near collapse of financial systems moving toward a deflationary spiral, sparks of another Middle East war, religious strife is booming and the Obama administration is still using Bush for all the ills that they created themselves. Shamus, can you explain?”

I have been a lifelong Republican, never have voted for a Democrat, and never would.  Ever since Clinton's administration and the Congress behind him, I have seen Republican "representatives" slip and slide down the proverbial slope, prevaricating, compromising and selling themselves to advance their political careers. 

Even as the federal government continues its grandiose mission of redistributing your tax money, we continue to learn how unaccountable its corrupt system already is.

Congressman Bart Stupak (D-Mich.) had been a staunch supporter of pro-life initiatives for nearly twenty years in Congress. Tragically for him, and even more tragically for the country, Stupak fell in line behind the White House. For months he had held out, bravely. Then, at the eleventh hour, he caved in. I am a Dutch foreigner (or "alien") working in the USA. I was worried about all these things during the Obama campaign because I had heard/seen that before. But the Republicans had no credible leader. John McCain was visibly uncomfortable on the TV screen and no match to the Pied Piper (nor was Mrs. Clinton). And there is still no credible conservative leader now. The public who feels deceived wants a leader who stands out and they have no one to look at and listen to. Romney writes books but is no warrior. Sarah Palin holds speeches and may convince women but that's not enough. Boehner and McDonnel talk well but don't inspire.

Why isn't the OIC-driven UN passing "international resolutions" against Islamic genocide of non-Muslims instead of resolutions (co-sponsored by Obama, no less) prohibiting "defamation" of Islam? In other words, the UN wants us to say nothing negative about the religion of pieces -- like, for example, reporting this story. But the authorities are too afraid of the local Muslim leader to file charges even though an entire family had been wiped out by Muslim hatred.

World Net Daily (WND) reported this week that a socialist organization, the so-called socialist/progressive party, which has close ties to Barack Obama, has outlined a plan to turn the president's health-care legislation into a government-run system designed to ultimately eliminate private insurance companies. Obama's health-care bill "should create millions of new stakeholders in a health-care system governed by democratically established rules rather than by the fiats of private insurers," wrote Frank Llewellyn, national director of Democratic Socialists of America.
